The Russian military killed 213 Ukrainian children.
This was reported in the Telegram-channel of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
“More than 602 children were injured in Ukraine during the two months of full-scale armed aggression by the russian federation. According to official data, as of the morning of April 24, 213 children were killed and more than 389 wounded”, – the statement said.
The Office of the Prosecutor General stressed that these figures are not final, as work is underway to establish them in places of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
The highest number of victims among children is in Donetsk region – 122, Kyiv region – 114, Kharkiv region – 91, Chernihiv region – 66, Kherson region – 44, Mykolaiv region – 43, Luhansk region – 37, Zaporizhia region – 27, Sumy region – 17, Kyiv city – 16, Zhytomyr region – 15.
Thus, on April 23, a mother with a three-month-old child died as a result of the shelling of a residential district in Odessa. On the same day, it became known about the death of two girls – young actresses of the Donetsk Regional Drama Theater, who died as a result of shelling by Russian troops in Mariupol. Also yesterday near Novokyivka of the Snihurivsky area of the Nikolaev area the 9-year-old boy and the 17-year-old girl received mine-explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds, owing to detonation of a mine.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, as a result of bombings and shelling of Ukrainian towns and villages by the Russian armed forces, 1,500 educational institutions were damaged, 102 of which were completely destroyed.
On April 18, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with CNN that the Russians had taken up to 5,000 children from Mariupol.
