On the morning of Thursday, July 21, the russian occupiers began a massive shelling of Kharkiv.

This was reported by the head of Kharkiv OVA Oleg Sinegubov.

“The russians are attacking Kharkiv. Attention residents: stay in shelters, don’t go outside without an urgent need, don’t ignore the alarm signals!”, – he stressed.

The mayor of Kharkiv Igor Terekhov also addressed the citizens and warned: “The shelling of one of the most densely populated areas of the city continues. Stay in shelters!”.

According to the mayor, there is an admission to one of Kharkiv’s medical institutions.

“There are wounded”, – he added.

UPDATED (10:19 a.m.): According to preliminary data from the Regional Center for Emergency Medical Assistance, 17 people were injured as a result of shelling in one of Kharkiv’s residential areas.

UPDATED (10:29 a.m.): Mayor Ihor Terekhov noted that traffic stops, in particular, came under fire. One of the wounded is in serious condition. It also became known about the first victim of shelling.

“For the second day in a row and at approximately the same time, the occupier is hitting public transport stops. As a result, one person has already died and 17 are injured, one of whom is extremely serious”, – said the mayor of Kharkiv.

UPDATED (10:54): Serhiy Bolvinov, the head of the Investigative Department of the State Police in the Kharkiv region, announced that two dead people are already known. The number of wounded remains the same.

“17 – wounded. One of the wounded is an employee of the patrol police”, – Bolvinov said.

According to him, according to preliminary information, the russian occupiers fired from the Uragan MLRS, and cluster shells were also used.

At 9:29 an air alert was announced on the territory of the city and region, and later an announcement about possible artillery fire appeared. Soon, reports of “arrivals” in the city began to appear among the locals.

The day before, the General Staff of the Armed Forces announced that the enemy was conducting combat operations in the Kharkiv direction with the aim of holding the occupied lines.
