Long-range artillery will force both sides to act more deftly if they hope to avoid serious casualties.

The new artillery systems that Ukraine is receiving will change the course of the war with russia. Long-range artillery will have a colossal impact on both sides. U.S. analysts are confident that both sides will act more deftly to avoid serious casualties.
This was reported by The Washington Post.
Speaking at the Pentagon, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin confirmed that long-range artillery will be crucial in the next phase of the war in Ukraine.
Russia and Ukraine are currently conducting an artillery duel using Hurricane and Tornado multiple rocket launchers, as well as outdated 122-mm howitzers. The use of Western artillery systems will accelerate the tactical shift of both sides to use so-called counter-battery fire, in which Ukrainian soldiers will be able to more effectively search for enemy artillery, determine its location and destroy it.
Artillery units are often disguised, so a combination of reconnaissance, drones and radars may be needed to detect them. To this end, the West provides Ukraine with drones and counter-battery radars.
Sam Cranny-Evans, an analyst at the Royal United Armaments Institute in London, said the supply of Western artillery was crucial to Ukraine because the Armed Forces could find virtually no ammunition for its Soviet-era artillery systems. They are produced in small quantities in Poland and Bulgaria, but many more countries in the world produce munitions for NATO-standard weapons.
